American History- Tea Party

Monday, March 07, 2011 Posted by Amy Boyle

My object was a tea bag. I was inspired by the book I am reading At Home by Bill Bryson. He details how the Tea Party was perceived in its time. As an act of serious terriorism. The Americans destroyed what would have been a year supply of tea for Boston and at the time tea was the most popular drink and very expensive to purchase. I used this object to illustrate the way American history gets reimagined today and how the misconecptions get appropriated today such as in the case of the Tea Party political movement.
