This article in Detroit Free Press, discusses the positive economic impact that Historic Preservation has had. Stephanie Meeks, of the National Trust for Historic Preservation argues that the tax credit from Historic Preservation creates jobs, leverages private investment and federal dollars, makes use of underutilized real estate, and is good for tourism, and that therefore Michiganders "should urge their elected officials to keep the historic tax credit intact."
