RCAC Intervention/Interpretation

I like Emily’s idea of utilizing the postcards/photos that are spread on the table near the entrance of the exhibit. Perhaps we could expand on the captions provided in the exhibit or write other historically relevant facts on the back.  Additionally, I think it would be interesting to juxtapose Artamonoff’s images with present day photos of the same monuments or in some cases, what stands there now. This would take a day of running around (perhaps in small groups) trying to recreate the photos that were taken 90 years ago. It would create an interesting visual dialogue about how the city is changing and evolving. We could make a selection of the over 1000 photos of his collection (http://icfa.doaks.org/collections/artamonoff/items?sort_field=collection_id) or limit it to those photos found in the exhibit.

Just a few thoughts.
